Saturday 10th May 2008: Second XI defeat Culgaith 1st XI in Sandair game...

Despite being bowled out for 109, top scorer A Dodds with 19, the Second XI still managed to win the EVCL Division 1 Fixture at Sandair.

The visitors, in reply were skittled for a paltry 49, with Andrew Davidson picking up a couple of wickets in an economic spell.

Tuesday 6th May 2008: Teams announced for weekend fixtures

 The first eleven travel south twice this weekend, on league duty on Saturday at Duddon SC and Higson Cup duty on Sunday, as they look to complete the postponed fixture from 04/05/08 at Haverigg.

The unlucky Andrew Dodds is replaced by Matthew Taylor in the only change from the derby defeat to Workington CC last Saturday. Taylor will strengthen the batting which has yet to fire early this season.

Dodds does come back into the side for the cup game on Sunday, as does Alex Grainger. The returning pair replace Greg Barnes and Hugh Gimber.

The Seconds will look to build upon an excellent victory against the Thirds when they entertain Culgaith at Sandair. Another victory will hopefully build confidence further in their promotion hunt.

The Thirds meanwhile play Baggrow at home on Sunday, with skipper Richard Wilson leaving his team in the hands of David Lake.
