NatWest Cricket Force Update - 2014

Over a hundred members and volunteers turned up to support the showcase  Club day at Sandair on 5th April. We were delighted to welcome Mike Gatting, the current President of MCC and the Managing Director of ECB. Mike, along with his supporting team including Dave Leighton of the ECB and Bob Simpson from Cumbria Cricket, led a huge team effort to finish off many jobs that have been identified to be completed before the start of the playing season.

Thanks go to everyone that turned up to lend a hand on the day. It was particularly gratifying to see so many juniors and their parents at the Club and the youngsters were rewarded by the organising of a couple of cricket clinics coordinated by Jon Gibson.

Particular thanks also go to NatWest Bank for the support of some of their local staff on the day, Jewson who have provided a sponsorship package for materials, Lakes Home Centre & Haigh's for providing the much needed pies for all of the volunteers and many others who have donated materials and provided services to us at greatly reduced rates.

The ground and clubhouse look really great ahead of the start of the season and a reminder that the nets are now up at the ground and organised team practices commence for seniors on Tuesday 9th April, and that the registration day for juniors is Wednesday 10th April.

Some photos of the event can be found in Photo Gallery.

In the meantime a huge thanks again to everyone who turned up and we look forward to welcoming you all down at the Club during the summer.
