Ground Update

It is with regret that the club has to announce that no cricket will be played at Sandair this season.

It is clear for everyone to see that the floods have caused significant damage.  However, following on from an ECB pitch consultant’s report and follow up meetings with the ECB, it has been concluded that extensive and specialist ground works need to be carried out on the square and playing surfaces to bring them up to the ECB’s standards.

It is not all bad news.  Whilst we understand this season is going to be a difficult one, come next year we will have one of the finest facilities in the county to enjoy for many years to come.

We wish to reiterate that we will still be functioning as a club.  We will be running the three senior teams as well as the junior sides.  Details of playing locations will be posted here when these have been finalised.  The clubs practice facilities will be fully functioning for the start of the season so we will be able to train as normal, only match days will be effected.

The clubhouse will also be fully functional and we must use this as focal point for the club.  We will be looking to hold lots of functions throughout the summer, many of which will correspond to World Cup football games no doubt!

We trust you will continue to support your local club.  Please keep checking this site for further developments and details of upcoming events.
